Eight Independence High School students have been nominated to attend the National Young Leaders Conference.  All are to be part of the 2008 graduating class except for Josh Stricklen and Ethan Simpson, who are juniors.  Academic standards play a key role in the nominations and these students all have a GPA of 3.5 or higher.  They have the opportunity to attend different conference sessions during the spring of 2008 in Washington, DC.  The NYLC is sponsored by the Congressional Youth Leadership Council.
